Organizations

Tuscumbia High School promotes a variety of extracurricular activies in order to give our students many different opportunities to develop their skills and leadership and to find what they are truly talented in doing.  If you have any questions, please contant the sponsor of the organization. 


Art Club:

The Art Club recognizes those students with exceptional skill and talent in art.  Each year students compete in local contests and display their work throughout the school and host an open house, in conjuction with the drama club, in the spring to showcase their art.  Hollis Taylor is the art club sponsor. htaylor@tuscumbialions.com

Choir:

Choir is an activity as a part of the choir course.  Choir students demonstrate their vocal talents through performances at various school events including Veterans' Day, baskeball games, and their choral performances.  Tanya Stockwell is the choir instructor and sponsor.  tstockwell@tuscumbialions.com

FCCLA:

Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America is the focused on bettering our future through the education of family and consumer sciences.  The FCCLA is involved in many activities including Homecoming hospitality room, Christmas cooking, regional cluster meetings, and service events.

Fellowship of Christian Students:

Fellowship of Christian Students provides the opportunity for students to meet and express their freedom of religion.  These students meet to discuss spiritual issues and host the See You At the Pole event to pray for our schools, government, and country.  Tanya Stockwell is the sponsor of FCS. tstockwell@tuscumbialions.com and cgriswold@tuscumbialions.com

Honors Progam:

The Honors Program was designed to further challenge exceptional students during the school day.  This program is directed by Connie Wyrick.  In the Honors Program, students can explore their interests in writing, research, and photography.  Students also participate in many different service projects as well as competitions including science research and the academic team.  Students must maintain standards set by the Honors' Advisory Committee.  For further information, please contact Connie Wyrick at cwyrick@tuscumbialions.com.

National Honor Society:

The National Honor Society recognizes those students with outstanding academics, leadership, service, and character.  NHS and JHNS members are selected by a faculty committee.  The NHS sponsor is Connie Wyrick cwyrick@tuscumbialions.com.

Speech & Drama:

The Speech and Drama Club focuses on developing speakers and actors through a variety of experiences.  There are speech and drama courses offered, but students do not have to be enrolled to participate in the club.  Students compete in speech and drama contests as well as, put on performances at the school.  The sponsor is Amber Robinson arobinson@tuscumbialions.com.

Student Council:

The student council is the student government at THS and TMS.  The High School Student Council has members from each class and members-at-large.  The student council puts on Carnival, Homecoming, the Blood Drive, and has Adopted the Highway in front of the school.  The high school student council sponsor is Lori Calderas lcalderas@tuscumbialions.com and the middle school student council sponsor is Benita Patterson bpatterson@tuscumbialions.com.
